List of things I am doing instead of packing:

20121217-121022.jpgLeaving tomorrow. Instead of packing I am:- Updating my blog with really uninteresting drivel- Trying to see which stuff I can sneak into David's suitcase so I don't have to carry it- Reading the paper, wishing for better news, but not feeling very hopeful- making a donation to a Stop Handgun Violence, a local foundation where I plan to volunteer when I get back home- acknowledging that I am anxious about the trip while feeling blessed and so lucky that we are able to go away for so long to such amazing places- checking weather in Taipei (64 and cloudy)- checking Facebook- editing photos of the marvelous Leonard Cohen we saw on Saturday night- wondering if the tree guy will remember his promise to shake off heavy snow and ice from the river birches and umbrella pine- checking email- wishing I didn't have a cold. I can't wait to see what kind of nasty germs are circulating around the plane. Feel like a sitting duck- consoling myself that if there are wild dogs on the plane, I've had my rabies vaccination- looking at the mess on the floor and wondering if I can make do with half this much stuff- vowing to do without half this much stuff- thinking about what George Carlin said about STUFF!!- already missing friends and family- getting excited about going
